Why are companies advertising their unreasonable work environments as if the horror was somehow desirable? Recent job listings for IT jobs look similar to this:

Challenging, fast-paced environment, candidates must thrive in ambiguity, be comfortable wearing several hats, and respond positively to ever-changing and conflicting specs, which are all top priorities. The ability to juggle inner politics while providing ground-breaking productivity is a must. Candidate must possess 15 years of direct experience in technologies that are 10 years old. A desire for 80+ hour work weeks, unreasonable deadlines, and a lack of appropriate resources is preferred. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in everything, live locally, and speak 13 languages fluently. Experience using FartBox, MeekGeek, WTF, and several other apps you’ve never heard of is a must. Preference is given to candidates with an O-positive blood type and who have lived a past life as sherpas. EOE.
